How far down do you grind?

We grind below the surrounding ground, so the spot can be covered with topsoil and seeded, mulched, or landscaped over. If you have plans for the area, tell us and we'll grind to suit them.

What happens to the wood chips?

Grinding turns the stump into a mix of wood chips and soil. We rake the grindings back into the hole and tidy up around it. Many homeowners use the extra as mulch.

What about the roots?

Grinding removes the stump and the thick base where the main roots start. The roots left underground break down naturally over time.

Do I need to be home?

Usually not. As long as we can get to the stumps and know which ones to grind, we can take care of it while you're out. We'll confirm the details when we schedule.
